Does Apple have what it takes to popularize Mixed Reality?
I am likely one of the most excited people in the world for this year’s WWDC hosted by Apple on June 5th. Anticipation has been building for Apple's rumored mixed reality headset, which is rumored to be confirmed at the event. I've pieced together a few details to provide a sneak peek into what could be the next groundbreaking device launched by the world’s favorite tech company.
The Reality Pro (rumored name) is expected to be a mixed-reality device, offering both augmented and virtual reality experiences. This means users will be able to switch between being 100% immersed into a virtual world, similar to Meta’s Quest device, or using a digital crown-style dial to switch over to augmented reality. The headset is also rumored to run on an operating system called xrOS, supporting eye and hand tracking, FaceTime calls, Apple Books integration and gaming capabilities. I believe Apple will have to deliver an amazing user interface, to push mass adoption into this style of wearable technology.
As we know, Mark Zuckerberg and his team haven’t had the easiest go at winning the popularity contest in terms of the masses, but Apple entering the arena will finally clarify if there’s truly a market at this time. Now I will mention that it's rumored to have a price point of around $3,000, which I perceive to be something geared towards developers, in which a more consumer-friendly-priced device will release in the following year.
Stay tuned as we keep you updated on any developments surrounding Apple's AR/VR headset. As excitement mounts, we can't help but wonder: will Reality Pro revolutionize the way we experience AR and VR? Only time will tell.

This week, we are featuring two outstanding individuals as our Digital Hustlers of the Week, Darren Watkins Jr., better known as iShowSpeed (left), and Nigerian Chef Hilda Bassey (right).
Speed is an extremely popular Twitch and YouTube star, and honestly with the type of numbers his music has put up, we must mention him as a musician as well! He’s making headlines this week alongside previous #DHOTW Kai Cenat, as they have announced that they will be joining forces for an exclusive live streaming deal on Rumble, a video and live streaming platform. Known as "The Kai 'N Speed Show," the duo will have total creative control, the first livestream is scheduled for May 26.
On the other hand we have Nigerian chef Hilda Bassey, known as Hilda Baci. She has captured the nation's attention by cooking non-stop for 100 hours in an attempt to set a world record. Showcasing the best of Nigerian cuisine, Baci prepared over 55 recipes and more than 100 meals during her marathon kitchen session. She received support from politicians, celebrities and fans alike, and now awaits confirmation from Guinness World Records to determine if she has indeed broken the record. This is a level of dedication that is extremely honorable!
Both of these Digital Hustlers have shown their determination and dedication to their crafts, making significant strides in their respective fields. Their achievements inspire others to push the boundaries and explore new opportunities. Be sure to follow them both on their journeys to new heights!

Strength of a Woman Festival and the Upcoming Invest Fest
Over Mother's Day weekend, the second annual Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit, presented by Mary J. Blige and Pepsi, took place in Atlanta. The event spanned four days, immersing attendees in inspiring panel discussions, live music performances and empowering activities centered around women's unity and the celebration of their achievements.
The festival kicked off with an evening with Robert Glasper, where the Grammy and Emmy-winning artist delivered a powerful performance at City Winery Atlanta. The event continued the following night with the #HipHop50 concert at the State Farm Arena, showcasing influential musicians and celebrating the history and evolution of hip-hop music.
The heart of the weekend however was the Strength of a Woman Summit at AmericasMart, featuring a full day of panels and programming from some of the most influential Black voices across diverse industries. Curated by Blige and Ashaunna Ayars, the summit provided attendees with invaluable insights, advice, and networking opportunities. Siya Brown of Avenue West shared her experience with Digitally Hustlin, saying, "I pitched to 80% of the women on the stage and every single one of them gave me an email contact and said 'follow up.'" When surrounded by like-minded individuals seeking higher levels of connectivity, events like the Strength of a Woman Festival become invaluable opportunities for growth and collaboration. Panelists included former Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Ciara, Gail Bean, Monique Rodriguez, Mara Brock Akil, Angela Yee, Brandee Evans, Raven Goodwin, and many more influential figures.
As we celebrate the success of this empowering event, we also look forward to other upcoming opportunities for networking and growth, such as Invest Fest in Atlanta this fall, hosted by the financial media platform Earn Your Leisure. Events like these continue to inspire and uplift, providing platforms for individuals from diverse backgrounds to come together and create lasting connections.

Will the ban stick? Will other states follow?
Montana recently became the first U.S. state to enact a complete ban on TikTok, raising concerns about privacy and freedom of speech. Republican Governor Greg Gianforte signed a bill that completely prohibits the use of the app within the state. It is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2024, is expected to be challenged legally and will serve as a testing ground for the idea of a TikTok-free America. Gianforte claims the ban aims to protect the citizens of Montana's private data from being harvested by the Chinese Communist Party.
This groundbreaking decision forces creators in the U.S. to truly consider the reality that TikTok could be shut down any day now. We all hear about owning our audiences and not relying on the platforms, well nows a time to act upon that advice. Diversifying your presence on various social media platforms and adapting to an ever-changing digital environment is pivotal in today’s climate as a creator.
We advise all of our creators that monetize their social media, to start considering the next steps if TikTok faces further restrictions or even shutdowns in your region. As creators search for new platforms to double down on, they should prioritize those that balance content discovery with a solid monetization program, like YouTube. TikTok's success lies in its ability to seamlessly connect users to top trends through a powerful search feature. In contrast, Instagram's search function often falls short, and no one is searching YouTube for Shorts quite yet. Let’s all prepare for the best and stay hopeful for the best!
