Video podcasting is becoming increasingly popular in the creator economy, with YouTube investing in new tools and TikTok featuring viral podcast clips. Audio giant Spotify is now partnering with payment startup Creative Juice to make video podcasting more accessible to creators.
Here's what you need to know about the Creative Juice and Spotify partnership:
A select group of Creative Juice influencers will have access to a "white glove service" through the podcast program, including beta testing new products, individual support and guidance from the Spotify team, and dedicated promotion on Spotify.
YouTubers such as Oompaville (4 million subscribers), Growwithjo (4 million subscribers), Rich Lopp (340k subscribers), and The Editing Podcast (47k subscribers) are among the first creators to participate in the program.
Creative Juice provides funding, banking, and automated business tools for creators, and invests directly in creators through its Juice Funds initiative.
On Spotify, podcast creators get paid through ads or fan-supported subscriptions or donations, and the platform is testing new sponsorship models like sponsor-read ads.
The partnership between Creative Juice and Spotify will help creators grow and increase their monetization opportunities by making it easier to produce high-quality video podcasts.
With 72% of US weekly podcast listeners actively watching video podcasts, the demand for high-quality video content is only increasing. Spotify is competing with YouTube to expand tools and resources for creators, and Creative Juice is helping to bring more diverse voices to the forefront of the creator economy.
